Evaluation Summary

  • Price Fairness Prices from roughly twenty to forty five dollars with breakfast are hard to beat for a clean, secure hotel close to El Dorado. Guests rate value around eight out of ten or more. For a transit night or visa trip, the equation is excellent.
  • Team Attitude Staff receive the best scores in reviews. They are described as kind, efficient and willing to help with airport shuttles, taxi bookings and local advice. Twenty four hour reception and security make late arrivals comfortable.
  • Position Convenience For flights and embassy appointments, the location is ideal. Corferias, the exhibition centre, is around six kilometres away, and Simón Bolívar Park and the Botanical Garden are close. For the historic centre and the northern nightlife districts, however, distances become long.
  • District Appeal Modelia is a middle class residential neighbourhood with tree lined streets, supermarkets such as Mercafam nearby and plenty of places to eat. It feels safe by Bogotá standards during the day and evening in the main streets. Normal city precautions still apply at night.
  • Tidy & Spotless Rooms and bathrooms are well kept, with cleanliness rated around eight and a half out of ten. Tiled floors and simple furnishings are easy to maintain. Housekeeping is attentive.
  • Breakfast Variety Breakfast is included and offers American and continental options with eggs, bread, fruit, juice and coffee. It is simple but sufficient, and early breakfast is often arranged for guests with morning flights. Colombian coffee is a pleasant bonus.
  • Restful Sleep Beds are comfortable, and rooms have heating and soundproofed windows in some categories, useful at Bogotá's altitude where nights are cool. Hot showers work reliably, according to guests. The quietest rooms face away from the street.
  • Network Performance Free wifi covers the property and is good enough for messages, email and most video calls. Occasional slowdowns occur in the evening. A Claro or Movistar SIM is cheap and useful for Uber and maps.
  • Property Upkeep The interior is modern and clean, in the style of a small urban boutique hotel rather than a design showcase. Rooms are compact but practical, with work desks. Common areas include a small café.
  • Sound Insulation The neighbourhood is residential, but restaurants and bars nearby bring noise on weekends. Rooms with soundproofed windows are noticeably better. Light sleepers should ask for a room away from the street.
  • Residency Potential For one to three nights, the hotel works very well. For longer tourist stays, the distance from the historic centre and northern districts means much time in taxis. Business visitors to Corferias or the embassy area find it more convenient.
  • Parking Access Information about on site parking is limited, and in residential Modelia cars usually go to paid public parqueaderos nearby, so drivers should confirm arrangements before arrival. Bogotá also applies the pico y placa rule, which restricts private cars on certain days according to the last digit of the licence plate, and rental cars are not exempt. For most guests, the airport shuttle and ride hailing apps are far simpler than bringing a car.
